Sunday morning we were a little slower to get up and around.
We showered and finished packing our stuff, and headed out to find breakfast. We had a little bit of timeto kill before we had to catch our planes.
A few blocks from our hotel was a place called Andrew's Coffee Shop, and when we walked in we thought we had just entered a Seinfeld episode. It looked just like the diner on Seinfeld.
They had very good food. We just made it in time to order breakfast
We also stopped at Crumbs bakery again and got some cupcakes to take home with us.
We went back to the hotel to get our bags and head to the airport to catch our flights home
I will say that LaGuardia airport is pretty awesome. They had I-pads sitting around the airport that we could use for free. What a nice touch (and the Kansas City airport doesn't have this!)
Plenty of places to plug in my phone and charge it up while I waited for my plane.
On the wall in the airport I saw this flag picture with all the names of the people lost in 9-11
I was still feeling pretty sad after being there the day before, and I thought this was really neat.
I made it on my plane, but I wasn't as lucky as I was on my first flight. This time I had to share my row with a business man.
We spent a lot of time on the runway before we took off.
I saw this "Welcome to New York" sign:
As we were turning to get on the runway, I had a good shot looking straight down the runway.
I think only the pilots get to see this view:
After we were up in the air, I got a few shots as we flew over New York:
It was a wonderful weekend, and we got to see and do A LOT while we were there.
Thank you, Lisa, for inviting me to NYC!
